We’re in the third month of 2025 and the year is flying on by. That also means we are nearing the end of the winter season, so it’s time to check out what openings you all thought were the cream of the crop. After tallying up all the votes, we’ve narrowed our list down to the top five. Let’s see which OPs made the cut and which one reigned supreme over them all. #5: Honey Lemon Soda – "Magic Hour" by &Team 6 percent We get a catchy opening to kick off our list that sometimes takes the series’ namesake very literally within the animation. You’ll be thinking about wanting to drink a lemon soda after seeing this. Not only is the song fun, but the animation does a good job showcasing not only the connection between Uka and Kai, but how Uka will grow throughout as the series progresses by showing her friend group get larger and how she’ll find ways to get stronger as well. #4: Shangri-La Frontier – "Frontiers" by Awich 8 percent This is certainly a unique blend of musical styles that aren’t often paired with one another. We get chanting you’d normally associate with something classical and/or orchestral and then that’s followed up by a beat that goes hard and rap vocals. It’s a combination that potentially could not mesh well together, but it all works so well for this opening that’s absolutely going to get you hyped for each forthcoming episode. Not surprising to see this series make another top 5 as it made two seasonal lists last year as well. #3: Dr. STONE – "Casanova Posse" by ALI 10 percent There’s something that’s fun about seeing all of Senku’s allies come together to sync their clapping along to the beginning of this song. This opening also illustrates just how many main contributors there are now to Senku’s Kingdom of Science as we get to see a good chunk of the people who sailed to America for this season. A fun opening that has some neat aesthetic touches, such as the retro styling on the logo and a dance number near the end. Dr. STONE has certainly made an effort to showcase each season’s particular plot point in every opening and that continues here as we see Dr. X and his adversaries that Senku and the gang will be going up against. #2: The Apothecary Diaries – "Hyakkaryōran" by Lilas Ikuta 17 percent Hope you like seeing Maomao and other characters bursting out of flowers because you’re going to get a lot of that in this opening! Another fun opening from The Apothecary Diaries as this is a song that’s very easy to listen to and is incredibly catchy to boot. On top of that, you get some really nice animation that blends well with the music to create a lovely opening to each episode. This is another series that makes its return to a top 5 OP list. We saw The Apothecary Diaries get voted in last winter as well. #1: Solo Leveling – "Reawaker" by LiSA (feat. Felix of Stray Kids) 26 percent Solo Leveling continues its momentum after being voted as a top 5 overall opening of 2024 by taking the top spot for winter 2025. Yet again this series also brings us another banger of an opening, which outside of all the fighting and drama within the show itself, Solo Leveling is going to deliver on giving you a good OP. The dynamic between LiSA and Felix is really well done and the nonstop fight animation is certainly enough to get you hyped up for every episode. This is definitely a choice that’s hard to argue with.
