In May, Combat Mecha Xabungle will be the second series to get a visual upgrade. Combat Mecha Xabungle , which premiered in 1982, was directed by Mobile Suit Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino. The series followed the young civilian Jiron Amos and his friends as they seek revenge on his parents' murderers. Stealing the show's title robot is just one part of their plan and the beginning of their troubles. The series was released in Japan as Blue Gale Xabungle . "Side L" combines modern recreations of the opening and ending sequences with classic animation, while "Side R" expands on the world of the series with newly-animated scenes.
