Solo developer Nick Duttweiler has revealed an April 29th release date for his “lo-fi, synth-drenched survival-horror” action game Blight Night on Steam. More details on the game’s release will be revealed as the launch date approaches.
“First off, I wanted to thank everyone who wishlisted and followed our game,” says Duttweiler. “It’s a huge show of support for the game we’re trying to make and we’re incredibly thankful. We’ll be sharing additional announcements ahead of release, but this will be our first formal announcement that Blight Night is releasing on Steam on April 29th, or just three weeks away!”
Developed over eight years as a passion project, Blight Night aims to channel the spirit of survival-horror classics. Steeped in CRT scanlines and soaked in sinister nostalgia, Blight Night is a love letter to VHS-era horror – complete with twisted creatures, desolate towns, and mysteries that should’ve stayed buried. It’s 1986, and the West Texas town of Golden Springs is now empty, with the residents having been wiped out by an outbreak. You are Sonny Barstow. You stand alone in the decrepit town. With only a handful of supplies and only a basic idea of what the hell is going on, you must navigate a world in collapse and the evil that inhabits it.
As is the norm with Survival Horror, players can expect the usual puzzles and inventory juggling, while also facing off against terrifying bosses. Darkness isn’t just creepy here—it’s lethal. Stay in the shadows too long, and you’re gone. Keep your light close, and your sanity closer.
