‘Harvest’ Trailer – Caleb Landry Jones Stars in Surreal Fable Shot on 16mm

Described as “a spellbinding and thrillingly distinctive period piece,” Harvest is a surreal folk tale starring Caleb Landry Jones (Get Out).

Over seven hallucinatory days, a village with no name, in an undefined time and place, disappears. Townsman-turned-farmer Walter Thirsk and befuddled lord of the manor Charles Kent are childhood friends about to face an invasion from the outside world: the trauma of modernity.

Athina Rachel Tsangari (Attenberg) directs from a script she co-wrote with Joslyn Barnes (Nickel Boys), based on Jim Crace‘s 2013 novel of the same name.

Shot on 16mm film by Sean Price Williams (Good Time), it also stars Harry Melling, Rosy McEwen, Arinzé Kene, Thalissa Teixeira, and Frank Dillane star.

Harvest premiered in competition at the 2024 Venice International Film Festival and went on to play Toronotion International Film Festival, New York Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, and Glasgow Film Festival, among others.

US distribution is still in the works, but the film opens in theaters in Germany on May 22 and the UK, Ireland, Mexico, and Chile July 18 before streaming in the UK, Ireland, Latin America, and more on August 8 from Mubi.
