Minoru Toyoda’s Award-Winning Kore Kaite Shine Manga Gets Anime

The Manga Taisho award-winning manga series Kore Kaite Shine will get a TV anime adaptation. To celebrate the adaptation of Minoru Toyoda’s island-living manga, a teaser visual was released featuring Ai on an ocean wall alongside Pokota. Toyoda also released a celebratory illustration. Its seventh collected volume is set to release in Japan on April 11. The series has won both the 2023 Manga Taisho award and the 70th Shogakukan Manga Award in 2025 along with ranking sixth on the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! list in 2023. The story follows first-year high school student Yasumi Ai who lives on Izu Oshima, an island off the coast of Tokyo. Ai starts up a manga club on the island after a certain incident where she starts thinking about creating manga.
