Arise As Cha Hae-in’s life ebbs away in the ant queen’s lair, Sung Jinwoo asks the cameraman to end his live broadcast. The other S-Rank hunters gasp as one of Jinwoo’s soldiers gently lays the body of healer Min Byung-gu beside Cha. Baek Yoonho, Min’s close friend, questions Jinwoo, but there isn’t much time to explain. Jinwoo extracts Min’s shadow, much to the hunters’ shock. As Min turns to Cha, Jinwoo tells Baek that he heard the healer’s voice asking him to use his power. He must have been a very kind person, Jinwoo notes – he didn’t have to order the shadow to help her. Min’s power envelops Cha and her mortal wounds disappear. Escape Baek tells Jinwoo that while Min’s power would be a great asset, in life the healer despised fighting. He respectfully asks Jinwoo to release his shadow, and he agrees immediately, having had the same thought. Min smiles at Baek as his shadow dissipates. In Japan, their hunters’ chairman is outraged at Jinwoo’s sudden appearance on the island. They’ve lost seven of their ten S-Rank hunters and decide to keep the remaining three safe. The hunters on standby fight desperately to prevent any from reaching the mainland. Baek and the S-Rank hunters make it to their waiting helicopter, but the panicking ants in the air present a danger to their escape. Grant Me a Name Jinwoo stays behind in the queen ant’s lair to clean up any remaining eggs and magic ants. He’s pleased that the unhatched eggs give him experience and his levels increase as they finish up. As he hits level 100, he’s ready to try extracting the black ant’s shadow. It’s a success, but a strange darkness briefly envelops Jinwoo as it emerges from a glowing egg. It speaks, stopping Jinwoo in his tracks – no other shadow can talk. The two step outside, and the shadow ant notes that there are 4000 magic ants still on the loose. Jinwoo orders it to help take them out. Beru easily slices through ant after ant, saving the life of Jinwoo’s friend Song before a magic ant reaches him. As for the S-Rank hunters’ helicopter, Choi Jong-in and Lim Tae-gyu are losing ground to the ants surrounding them in the air. A beam of energy rips through the magic ants – it’s Jinwoo, aloft on the back of his shadow dragon Kaisel. The helicopter is clear. Victory Thanks to the hard work of the hunters on and off the island, the mainland is kept safe and the damage was minimal. While there were a number of casualties, Chairman Go notes, the major threat from Jeju Island was neutralized. The raid was a success. As the magic beasts appear on the horizon, they’re single-handedly dispatched by a mysterious – and cocky – S-Rank hunter with a ponytail and two swords. A memorial service for Min Byung-gu and the other fallen hunters is held a few days after the raid. Jinwoo pays his respects, although the media commentating on the event wonders if he could have saved more lives if he’d been at the raid from the start. A recovered Cha Hae-in also attends the service. Chairman Go chats with Jinwoo and asks him about his plans for the future, and Jinwoo reveals that he’s thinking about creating a guild of his own. What’s Next? Inside the queen ant’s lair on Jeju Island, a group of hunters explores the caverns for any straggling magic beasts. Suddenly, a monstrous man speaking a strange language steps out of a shadow. The hunters shout and then collapse. Another man, blue-skinned with glowing eyes, emerges and says he put them to sleep to stop all the racket. The two mysterious figures discuss the power they sensed inside the lair and how strange it is that “he” is helping humans. The hunt will begin as planned, the blue man notes. As they depart, each opening different portals as they do, a man quietly watches the two figures: Sung Il-hwan, Jinwoo’s father. Yoo Jinho and Han Song-yi yell at Jinwoo over the phone, excited to hear that he’s starting the new guild. His phone rings again; it’s Go, calling to tell him a B-Rank gate opened on the freeway. Jinwoo goes on ahead and enters the gate solo to clear it. It turns red behind him.
