2025's baseball season kicks off next week, and the upcoming anime adaptation of The Catcher in the Ballpark! premieres not long after! Today, the series has announced a new cast member: not someone in the stands, but another member of the Motorsuns. Batting first and playing shortstop is lucky #13, Shishio. The handsome player, a favorite with the women in the stands, will be voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi—whom fans may know as Mash Burnedead in MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES . Anime Start Date Revealed Along with More Cast Junichi Kitamura ( Fluffy Paradise ) directs The Catcher in the Ballpark! anime at studio EMT Squared, with series composition by Shigeru Murakoshi ( I Parry Everything ), character designs by Fumio Iida and music by MONACA ( Shangri-La Frontier ). The anime's official website describes the story (translated): "Am I your type, Onii-san~?" One day at a baseball stadium, a gyaru selling beer approaches!? But she's actually a super innocent and kind-hearted girl…♡ The setting is a pro-league baseball stadium! Many people gather there every day to work and laugh together, and human drama is born there — it's almost like a town! So, why not become a "resident" of that town?!
