Toi-san Anime Film Debuts on July 18

Toi-san wa Seishun Shitai! Baka to Smartphone to Romance to , an upcoming theatrical anime film based on the short form anime school comedy series created by Jel of VTuber boy band Strawberry Prince, has revealed a new teaser trailer as well as the main staff for the film. The film hits theaters in Japan on July 18, 2025. Based on the original work by Jel, Mankyu directs the film at animation studio Seven Arcs. Yoichi Kato provides the screenplay, Akemi Kobayashi provides the character designs, and STPR MUSIC and AniTone provide the music. Jel provides the voices for both Akane Toi and Jel and also performs the opening theme song for the film, which is entitled “Mecchya Toi! feat. Jel & Toi-san”. Toi-san intends to have an ordinary high school experience, but on her first day of school she meets a handsome boy named Jel, and although Toi-san assumes that her school life is about to turn into a romance, instead Jel and the rest of her classmates are so wacky and eccentric that every day turns into a comedy complete with stand-up routines and skits!
