The novel has been serialized in the Japanese self-publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narou since March 2020. The M Novels imprint has published it s print edition since November 2020, releasing seven volumes to date. The Monster Comics imprint has published the manga adaptation drawn by Wasabi Mukuno since May 2021. The synopsis reads as such (translated): “We don't need a white magician who isn't good enough.” One day, Lloyd, a white magician, is expelled from the hero party.
